Mr. Skillman was born in Norwich, NY, and grew up in Deposit. He was the oldest son of Frank and Olive Skillman, who raised their seven children on Dean Street. Before moving to Columbia, MD, in 2000, he lived for many years in Floyd, NY.

He is survived by a brother, William Chase Skillman, and his wife Fonnie of Silver Spring, Maryland; a sister Charlotte Kramer and her husband Dean of New River, Arizona; two sister-in-laws, Verlie Anne Skillman of Silver Spring and Phyllis Skillman of Columbia; a brother-in-law, Eugene Mayer, of Lockport, New York; and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Clare Mayer of Lockport, and Florence Uhlig of Bainbridge, and two brothers, John of Silver Spring, Maryland, and LeRoy, of Columbia, Maryland, predeceased him. He died on 17 November 2009 at the age of 85 in Columbia, Howard, MD. Obit in The Deposit Courier, Deposit, NY.
