Edward Leo Skillman, 97,peacefully went to be with the Lord, passing away in his home Monday,June 24, 2013.
He was born to the late Sam & Virginia Skillman, a farming family in Ballston, VA. Mr. Skillman proudly served with the Navy during WWII. After the war he resided in Alexandria VA, worked as a master electrician and was an active member of the Masons and Shriners. Retiring in 1980, he and his wife moved to Myrtle Beach. He was a loving husband; father and grandfather.
Mr. Skillman was preceded in death by his wife Muriel and son Edward P. Skillman. He is survived by his daughters Patricia Stickles and Gerri Skillman; 13 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; and of course his beloved dog, Jitterbug.
A special thank you to Dr. Bodgan, who was his guardian angel here on earth, Tonya, Kim,Sabrina, and to the staff at Amedisys for such loving care.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, immediately followed by a memorial service at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 5000 Hwy 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.
