EAST ORANGE, N.J., March 24- Theodore W. Skillman, a soldier from the Spanish-American War through the first World War, died here yesterday at his home, 23 Harvard Street. His age was 67. He had been in various campaigns in the Spanish-American War, in the Philippines in 1905 and in the campaign against the Moros in 1912. He retired as a technical sergeant at Manila in 1921. He leaves a widow, Vala, and a son, Leonard. New York Times, March 25, 1944 He was buried on 25 March 1944 at Spring Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ. Theodore served in the military in U.S. Army. From Obit in NYT, 3/25/1944: "Theodore W. Skillman, a soldier from the Spanish-American War through the first World War, died... Theodore William Skillman and Vala Klepzova were married. Vala Klepzova was born in 1887 in Russia. She died on 18 September 1966 at the age of 79. Obit in Miami News and Miami Herald, 9/19/1966. She lived 2200 NW 25th St. in Miami, Dade, FL on 18 September 1966. Vala was buried on 20 September 1966 at Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
