8603	i.	Edward S. Lanning was born in 1906 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. He died after a short illness on 24 April 1976 at the age of 70 at Bronson Memorial Hospital in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, MI. Mr. Edward S. Lanning - 545 Dwillard Dr., Long time advertising executive in Kalamazoo, Mich. and South Bend, Ind., died at Bronson Memorial Hospital, Kalamazoo, Saturday morning, April 24, 1976, after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia in 1906, Mr. Lanning was a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania. In his early career, he served as advertising manager with West Bend Aluminum Co., West Bend, Wis., Magee & Brown Co., Philadelphia, a Bausch and Lomb affiliate, and Ele ctric Hose and Rubber Co., Wilmington, Del. He entered the agency business with the Aitkin-Kynett Co., Philadelphia, in 1942. Following active duty in the U. S. Navy during World War II, Mr. Lanning moved to South Bend, where he was an account executive, creative director, then vice president of MacDonald-Cook Co. and later president of Creative Marketing Associates. After moving to Kalamazoo in 1964, Mr. Lanning was associated with Thomas Bubin in the advertising business here and most recently was with Lanning Communications. Mr. Lanning leaves his wife, Marge S. Lanning; a brother, Percy L. Lanning, Philadelphia; and 2 nieces, Victoria Lanning, Philadelphia and Carol Lanning of Chicago. He was a member of Alpha Chi Rho and Michigan Advertising Roundtable.
