I have a pension application for a Disabled Confederate Soldier, 9/11/1916, that is very difficult to read, but is for a David F. Skillman. He has lived in Virginia for 53 years, born in Loudoun Co. It appears he served with John Mosby. Entered service April 1864, near Middleburg, Loudoun, VA. Living in Colonial Beach, Westmoreland, VA. David appeared in the census in 1920 in Washington, DC. In the 1920 Census they are living with their son-in-law, Ambrose Jennings. He died on 1 February 1927 at the age of 82 in Washington, DC. David F. Skillman Funeral -

Burial of Civil War Veteran to Be in Alexandria Tomorrow.

Funeral services for David F. Skillman, 82 years old, veteran of the civil war, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lula B. Jennings, 837 Shepherd street northwest, Tuesday. Will be held tomorrow morning from the residence. Burial will be in the Presbyterian cemetery, Alexandria, Va., and the Rev. Henry J. Smith will officiate.

Up to fifteen years ago, Mr. Skillman was actively engaged in the express business. He fought with the Confederates during the civil war. He is survived by his wife, and three daughters, Mrs. Lula B. Jennings, Mrs. Rose McKeown and Mrs. Allie Snellings. He was buried on 4 February 1927 in Alexandria, Alexandria, VA.

Elizabeth Delia "Lizzie" Skillman, daughter of Bushrod Washington Skillman and Sarah Elizabeth Gouchenour, was born about 1847 in Virginia. She died on 26 January 1929 at the age of 82 in Washington, DC. She was buried on 29 January 1929 in Alexandria, Alexandria, VA.
