Louis A. Skillman Jr., 59, Bradenton, died July 11, 1996.
He was born in Philadelphia and came to Bradenton 36 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was a Stetson University graduate, was self-employed by B & S Janitorial, and formerly managed Sunshine Press. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a past president of the Sertoma Club, and a former member of the De Soto Crewe. He was named that group's Hernando De Soto for 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Billye; a daughter, Lisa Campbell of Layton, Utah; six sons, Louis A. III and William A., both of Layton, Richard Lee and Jeremy J., both of Bradenton, Hank W. of Delta, Colo., and Herbert W. of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Harry of Cooperstown, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Shannon Funeral Home, Westview chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

DELAND - Mr. and Mrs. Louis Skillman, Sr., invited 125 guests to attend a "Meet and Greet" party at the Lion's clubhouse yesterday.

the affair was to honor their son Louis Skillman, Jr., on his 21st birthday and to present his fiance Marlene Castle to the guests.

Louis moved to Deland from Philadelphia, and attended local schools, being graduated from Deland High School, in 1954. He attended Stetson University for two years before enlisting in the Air Force in 1956. He received his discharge in 1957. He is presently in Jacksonville, where he is employed by the Household Finance Company.

Marlene Castle, his finance, is a native of Lonaconing, Maryland, graduated from the local schools and was later employed by an insurance firm in Washington. She enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 and was stationed at Maxwell Airbase, in Montgomery, Alabama. Her engagement to Louis, Jr., has been announced by her mother, Mrs. Marion K. Castle, of Lonaconing, Maryland, and her father, Raymond Castle, of Washington.

Mrs. Charles H. Harrison, and Mrs. J. Milton Dunn, greeted guest at the door and introduced them to guests in the receiving line.

The receiving line, consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Skillman, Sr., Louis Jr., and his fiancé Marlene.

Mrs. Louis Geraminos, Mrs. Harry Breeding and Mrs. Lance Hayward, served refreshments.

Mrs. J. Harold Fisher, was in charge of Virginia reel, hokey pokey and other group numbers and special dances. Guests danced to numbers from the juke box and record player. They were divorced in 1972. Minerva Marlene Castle, daughter of Clarence Raymond Castle and Marion Kay Anderson, was born on 5 March 1937 in Lonaconing, MD. She served in the military in 1956 in U.S. Air Force. She died of natural causes on 3 December 2015 at the age of 78 in Mesquite, NV. March 5, 1937 ~ December 3, 2015
Minerva Marlene Skillman, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away December 3, 2015 in Mesquite, NV due to natural causes incident to age. Marlene was born March 5, 1937 to Clarence R and Marion K Anderson Castle in Lonaconing, MD.
After graduating high school, she enlisted in the Air Force where she met and married Louis A Skillman, Jr on November 23, 1957. They later divorced. Marlene moved to Utah in 1972 where she worked in civil service taking her to Denver, CO, Juneau, AK and Ogden, Utah. She was a homemaker, liked traveling, puzzles, reading, gambling and most of all spending time with family and friends. Marlene retired after 25 years of civil service and moved to Mesquite, NV, where she enjoyed the weather, new adventures and making many new friends.
She is survived by her three sons Louis (Holly) Skillman of Layton, UT, Richard Skillman of Bradenton, FL and William Skillman of Washington Terrace, UT, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. Cremation under the direction of McMillan Mortuary of St George, UT. Services to be held at a later date.
