"A native of Sulphur Springs, she had lived in Dallas for 56 years. She attended Christian College in Columbia, Mo., and Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Va., and was a graduate of Fairmount Junior College in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of the Standard Club, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists and the Highland Pasrk Presbyterian Church."

Margaret Sheppard Skillman and Edward Young Holt were married. Edward Young Holt was born in 1895. He died in 1959 at the age of 64.
