Hiram D. Skillman and Catharine Hoff were married on 25 January 1844 in Elizabeth, Union, NJ. Somerset Co. Historical Quarterly (1919.pdf) has m. Jan. 25, 1845 by Gardner. They appeared in the census in 1880 at District 3 in Raritan, Somerset, NJ. Living with him and wife Catharine were children James C., Mary E., Wesley, and Edward. Catharine Hoff, daughter of Unknown Hoff, was born on 26 August 1829 in New Jersey. She died of heart trouble on 12 February 1910 at the age of 80 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Hartford, CT.
