Arny died August 19, 2011 at Cornerstone South, Lafayette, LA, after a long battle with Alzheimers. She is survived by her only son, Charles W. Arny III and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Arny Jr., her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Felix Bachemin; one sister and six brothers. Joyce was a long time resident of Lafayette La., teaching in the Lafayette Parish school system for many years. Joyce was born on June 30, 1921 in Covington, La. Joyce, also known as "Aunt Joyce" by many, was a loving wife and mother. She loved her yard and was active in the local garden club and hosted many socials for the Louisiana Iris Society. Joyce touched the lives of many, her students, her family and her many friends. She will be missed by all. Joyce elected to donate her body to LSU School of Medicine for medical research.
