He was retired from the Polk County School System after 30 years teaching at Oscar J. Pope Elementary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jerry Skillman; survived by one daughter, Jennifer (Russ) Maul; one brother, Mike Skillman; two sisters, Debbie (Marc) Steinberg and Sandy (Mike) Pyron; one granddaughter, Emily Maul and one niece and one nephew.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 5-7 P.M. at the Tribute Center at Heath Funeral Chapel.
