4793. Edith Kuykendall Hutcheson was born on 10 March 1898 in Pikeville, Bledsoe, TN. She lived at Civil Districts 5, 10 in Bledsoe, TN in 1900. She lived in Warren Co., TN in 1910. Edith was educated Burritt College (Private K-12 school) about 1918 in Spencer, Van Buren, TN. She lived with her parents at Civil District 4 in Warren, TN in 1920. She lived in Cleveland, Bradley, TN between 1924 and 1981. Between 1950 and 1963 Edith was a Teacher in Cleveland, Bradley, TN. She taught grade school after the children were grown. She lived near her daughter, Ann, after her husband died in Searcy, White, AR between 1981 and 1995. She lived at a nursing home near her son, Clarence in Tulsa, Tulsa, OK in 1995. Edith died on 9 July 1996 at the age of 98 in Tulsa, Tulsa, OK. She was buried in Cleveland, Bradley, TN. My grandmother (Edit Hutcheson Richmond) told me that she was very close to her sister, Clemma, who died when a fellow student at Burritt College in Spencer, Tennessee, knocked her down, and she fell on her books, evidently bursting her spleen and she bled to death.

Edith Kuykendall Hutcheson and Clarence Lester Richmond Sr were married on 18 July 1923 in Montgomery, Montgomery, AL. Clarence Lester Richmond Sr was born on 30 November 1895 in Bradley Co, TN. He lived at Civil Districts 4-5 in Bradley, TN in 1900. He lived at Civil District 1 in Bradley, TN in 1910. Clarence lived in Bradley Co, TN in 1917. He served in the military Marines basic training in February 1918 at France in Parris Island, Beaufort, SC. Clarence Richmond kept a diary during his time in the U.S. Marines during World War 1, and expanded it into a memoir that has been cited by at least two World War 1 web sites. The memoir is at http://www.robinrichmond.com/wardiary He served in the military Most notably the Battle of Somme-Py (Blanc Mont), where he won the between June 1918 and November 1918 in France. Clarence served in the military "The Watch On The Rhine", after the armistice between December 1918 and June 1919 in Segendorf, Neuwied, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. He served in the military Marine Reserve between July 1919 and 1924 in Cleveland, Bradley, TN. He lived at Cleveland Ward 3 in Bradley, TN in 1920. After 1924 Clarence was an Insurance Salesman. He lived in Cleveland, Bradley, TN in 1930. He lived in Cleveland, Bradley, TN on 1 April 1940. Clarence lived Insurance rep in Cleveland, Bradley, TN in 1955. He died on 25 January 1981 at the age of 85 in Cleveland, Bradley, TN. He was buried at Fort Hill Cemetery in Cleveland, Bradley, TN. Edith Kuykendall Hutcheson married Clarence L. Richmond on July 23, 1923. They had four children. They lived in Cleveland, Tennessee where Clarence had a successful insurance agency. Since Edith was the youngest daughter she had the youngest husband. Her sisters were all widows. In their retirement years Clarence and Edith would take Mattie, Fannie and Mary on long trips through the west and other parts of the country. They were all big talkers and all would try to tell you about the trips at the same time.
