Jane Skillman Hoover, 85, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003.

Private burial will be Friday in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Hoover married Charles D. "Goob" Hoover Jr. in St. Louis and moved to Amarillo in 1945. She was the daughter of Jack Calhoun Skillman and Cora Louise Kennady Skillman of Owensboro, Ky. She was an active club woman and volunteer. She had been a member of Junior League of Amarillo, Twentieth Century Club, JUG Club, Junior Antique Club and ACC Ladies Golf Association.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine "Peggy" Skillman Curtice and a nephew, Jack Curtice.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn "Kaki" Hoover; a niece, Gerry Curtice Schabarum of Indian Wells, Calif.; a niece, Jane Ann Hoover Adams; and a nephew, Tom Hoover of Pampa.

The family suggests memorials be to Presbyterian Children's Home of Amarillo; Amarillo Animal Rescue Shelter; Amarillo College Rowan Library Scholarship Fund; or a favorite charity.
