Lillian Skillman of Fort Bragg died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2003 at Mendocino Coast District Hospital. Born on Nov. 15, 1918 in Chicago, Ill., and raised by her aunt, Elizabeth Wilson, she was 85. Memorial services were held on Jan. 2.

She came to Fort Bragg in 1963 with her husband Melvin Skillman, who preceded her in death in 1986. They were married for 50 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Lillian is survived by three of her four children, Richard Skillman of San Jose, Calif., Barbara Ash of Fort Bragg, and Faye Harvey of Boone, Iowa. Her daughter Margaret Triplett of Fort Bragg, died in 1997. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
