A memorial service for Harry Leslie Skillman, Jr., 84, Dallas (formerly of Van Zandt County) were held at 2 p.m., March 26, at John Calvin Presbyterian Church, 4151 Royal Lane at Midway Road, Dallas. Burial was at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton.

Mr. Skillman, Jr., passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011. He was born on September 14, 1926 in Fort Worth to Harry Leslie and Eugenia Millsap Skillman. He was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian of Dallas. He served in the US Navy during WWII. She graduated from North Texas State University in Denton with a degree in chemistry.

He was employed for 36 years by ARCO Olil and Gas as a production engineer. His career included participation in the development of the Prudhoe Bay Alaskan Oil Field on behalf of ARCO. He was a long time member and an Elder in the John Calvin Presbyterian Church of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Iranell Burnett Skillman, Dallas, and three children, Hanlon Leslie and his wife Mary and son Ryan Patrick Skillman of Wimberley, Lyndon Kyle and wife Charmaine Skillman, Sara Nell and her husband Ryan Walker all of Austin.
