8078. David Layton Skillman was born on 28 November 1945 in Muncie, Delaware, IN. He died on 12 January 2013 at the age of 67 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Delaware, IN. FARMLAND- David L. Skillman, 67, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 28, 1945 in Muncie, the son of Hoard F. and Mabel M. Skillman and spent most of his life as a tool and die maker.David was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Judy (Beedy) Skillman;two children, David F. Skillman (wife, Becky) and Beverly Craig(husband, Aaron); his grandchildren, David J. Skillman, Sarah Shaffer(husband, Josh), Elijah G. Craig and Dakota L. Craig; also surviving is his great-grandson, Xavier Shaffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ida Hott and Patricia Angel; and a brother, Ralph Skillman.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at The Branches of Farmland, 8311 West State Road 32, Farmland, Indiana 47340.
The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
