Jacob was buried at Old Baptist Burying Ground in New Burlington, Hamilton, OH. Came to Miami valley, then settled in Colerain Township.

Jacob Skillman and Sarah Barber were married. Sarah Barber, daughter of James Barber and Margaret Unknown, was born on 10 December 1782 in Ohio. She died on 22 June 1840 at the age of 57 in Hamilton Co., OH. She was buried at West Branch Mill Creek Cemetery in Bevis Colerain Twp., Hamilton, OH. Sarah was buried at Old Baptist Burying Ground in New Burlington, Hamilton, OH.
