She died on 1 November 1858 at the age of 51. She was buried at Harlingen Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery in Belle Mead, Somerset, NJ. According to Find-a-Grave she was a descendant of a prominent early citizen of New Amstersam, Jacques Cousseau a Huguenot.
