Brooks Tegler's Octet

  Anita ThomasSharon ClarkBrooks Tegler’s Octet brings history-making music showcasing a trio of extraordinary female horn players – Leigh Pilzer, Anita Thomas and Mary Lou Newman - plus internationally acclaimed vocalist Sharon Clark.  These talented ladies will be joined by Brooks’ regular rhythm section of Tommy Cecil on bass, Robert Redd on piano and Randy Reinhart on trumpet/cornet with a to-be-announced trombonist in a program featuring thirties to fifties standards and classics.

Young ColumbiansBegun in Columbia, Maryland in 1975 by dinner theater owner/multi-awarded director Toby Orenstein, the gifted ensemble of singers and dancers won praise for their polished performances at Kennedy Center and Disney World.  Now the Young Columbians will light up North County High School’s stage with their electric energy and bright talents in a spirited program of Broadway favorites and all-American patriotism.

AVASMusic director JoAnn Kulesza will conduct Arundel Vocal Arts Society choristers accompanied by gifted instrumentalists in a program of beloved carols and seasonal songs to include less familiar works from distant lands. This program is at the request of PAAL subscribers wishing to hear the lovely AVAS voices again creating the glorious sounds of Christmas.

Always a PAAL favorite now in its fifth presentation, LAM Music Director Green will lead members of the Annapolis Chorale and Chamber Orchestra with featured soloists in a semi-staged performance of a classic Broadway musical. Complete with costumes and sufficient dialog to convey the plot, this Broadway classic promises to be another outstanding show with great music the top priority.

Peabody Outreach Children's Opera

 Sunday, March 6, 2016 - 3:00 pm

Peabody OperaFamily friendly PAAL invites parents and grandparents to accompany their children from Kindergarten age through Elementary School to attend a Peabody Children’s Opera, Papageno, an adaptation by Peabody of Mozart's Magic Flute.    Through Peabody Outreach, these shortened operas, designed specifically for children, have traveled to schools and other venues for over 20 years.   The  presentations are fully costumed, fully staged with sets that appeal to young children, and feature live singers accompanied on the piano.


Frank and Vinny with the AACC Symphony

AACC Frank, Vinny, Anna Maestra Anna Binneweg (standing, right) conducts AACC Symphony Orchestra with guitarists Frank Vignola (L) and Vinny Raniolo (R) in an encore performance of AACC Symphony’s most enjoyable concert. It was first performed in April 2014 when Frank and Vinny first joined the AACC orchestra in virtuosic, impromptu music-making to delight their capacity audience at AACC’s Kauffman Theater. Among the most sought-after duo guitarists on the International scene, Vignola and Raniolo are also familiar to Public Television viewers. They are admired for their ability to create fresh, beautiful versions of familiar songs. The duo will perform such classics as “Malagueña” or “Scheherazade” joined by the AACC Symphony.
